Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Buyer with a solid background in sourcing and managing the procurement of electronic and electro-mechanical parts. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team within a leading industry organisation. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the timely ordering, supply, and expedition of raw materials, assemblies, and support services. You will work closely with various departments, including Engineering, Planning, Sales, and Manufacturing, to ensure the smooth flow of materials and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in purchasing electronic or electro-mechanical parts.
  • Strong IT skills, with a proficient working knowledge of the MS Office suite.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and the ability to analyse system exception messages effectively.

Desired Qualifications/Skills:

  • Experience in continuous improvement initiatives, particularly in alignment with ISO 9001 Quality and ISO 14001 Environmental standards.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a fast-paced industry.
  • Ability to prepare the necessary documentation for custom part orders.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the timely order placement, supply, and expedition of raw materials, assemblies, and support services.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Planning, Sales, and Manufacturing teams to ensure a seamless flow of materials.
  • Prepare and distribute weekly expedite reports and manage selected suppliers to control inventories and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Analyse ERP system exception messages, place purchase orders, and prepare the necessary documentation for custom part orders.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on ISO 9001 Quality and ISO 14001 Environmental standards.
